Finally feeling better...yesterday was the first day since Tuesday that I was able to eat all three meals (and keep them all down)! So tomorrow it's back to the office - I'm so lucky that I can work from home when I want/need to.

Ok, I've been procrastinating, but I've been tagged.

The Rules:

Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about you (themselves). People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end choose 5 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a message saying, "you've been tagged" and tell them to read your blog.

  1. I am always cold when I go to bed at night, and will start with socks on. When I wake up in the morning, my socks are almost always at the bottom of the bed. I always know where to look if I can't find the match to my socks.
  2. I have to have my applications open in a certain order, so that they are always lined up the same way across the bottom of my computer screen. From left to right, it has to be: Outlook, Excel/Word (whichever I'm using at the time, or in that order if it's both), work-specific applications, then IE.
  3. If I am playing certain games on my computer, e.g. Spider Solitaire or Snood, I will almost always play until I win. It drives me nuts when I don't win and have to close the game.
  4. I can go days at a time without washing my hair - one of the benefits of having insanely thick hair. I can straighten it, curl it, throw it in a ponytail, or do another updo.
  5. I'm addicted to magazine subscriptions. I've finally started to pare back in the last year or so, but I currently subscribe to six magazines (it was probably 10 - or maybe even more - at one point!).
  6. I use the words 'maybe' and 'yes' interchangeably, which drives my husband CRAZY.

Since everyone has already been tagged, I don't tag anyone. Ha!

Not feeling so well today... I went out for dinner with some girlfriends last night. Let's just say I don't think Little P is a big fan of Thai food.

The Swarm game was WAY fun on Saturday! We had a great time with Sarah and Chad, who asked us to be Mimi's godparents. We were honored to say yes. The rest of the weekend was restful, and somewhat interesting. I can't get into the details, but please keep my family in prayer....

I went to Interval class at the gym today - I always feel really good when I finish going to class, but lately I get this weird feeling afterwards for the rest of the day. I think it's Little P doing his/her own workout. Ha! At any rate, I know I need to be going to the gym more than just one or two days a week - or at least walking more or something. It just seems really easy until I have a bunch of stuff going on, or am really tired/lazy and watching TV (like the Golden Globes).

I love lazy Saturdays! This morning, we slept in a little, and have just been relaxing since then. Tonight we are going to dinner and the MN Swarm game (lacrosse) with some friends. We've never been to a lacrosse game, but keep hearing how fun it is.

I have some pictures that I need to transfer to the computer - once I do, I'll post one of my belly photos.

So...I didn't update on yesterday's ultrasound because there were a couple of hiccups yesterday (not with me, though - no worries!). But here's the scoop:

First, the dr's office called when I was on my way out the door to go to the dr and they said he had just left to deliver a baby, and were asking if I wanted to reschedule with him or go ahead with a nurse practitioner. Well, I was obviously antsy to have the ultrasound, and Jamie would have already left, so we decided to meet with the NP. Then, when we got to the office, they were a half hour behind on the ultrasounds, so we sat around for another half hour. Meanwhile, I was thinking "Why couldn't they have mentioned that when they called me 30 minutes ago?!". Then, when we got in with the ultrasound tech, we found out there had been a loss earlier in the day that sort of threw the schedule out the window. I felt like such a jerk for being mad, but I keep telling myself that I didn't know, and couldn't have known.

Ok, so on to the good stuff...the ultrasound was amazing! You know, you see stuff on TV, and hear other people talk about it, but when it was actually ME, it was crazy. The tech was great, and was super helpful with explaining everything. There were a couple of things that he called out - the first was a kidney measurement, which he said was on the high side of normal, and that my dr would take a close look at it. The other thing was the question about timing - he asked how confident I was in my last period date. So, I said I was pretty confident (I'd been charting, so I knew I could go back to those if needed), and asked why he was asking? Well, he said I was measuring almost 2 full weeks ahead of my due date, and that the dr would probably be discussing that with me as well. Then, at the end, when he went to get a profile pic for us to keep, Little P was NOT cooperating! So the tech said that between the other couple of things we'd already discussed, I'd probably come in for another ultrasound at my appointment next month (so we can get pictures then). I was slightly bummed not to have any walking out of there, but it was enough to see everything at the appointment!

When we met with the NP, she didn't really talk about much of the ultrasound stuff, but said that she would have my dr call me today - which he did. He is officially changing my due date to 5/5/07 (previously 5/17), and that I don't have anything to worry about with the kidney thing. They'll just check it out again at the next ultrasound, and continue to monitor if it warrants it. My dr is so funny - he said the baby just got me out of 2 weeks of pregnancy.

So while we did NOT find out the sex of the baby, Jamie and I both are starting to think that it is a boy. But...you never know, so I'm attempting to not get too fixated on it.

Jared Anderson was a guest worship leader at our church today - I was SO excited! I love his songs; what a blessing to have him there.

Ok, for those of you that are pregnant or already mommas, you will appreciate this...

I think I need to start keeping a log of how many times I go to the bathroom in a day. I swear, sometimes I've only been out for 5 minutes before I honestly have to go again. It's going to be another long 4 months...

So Christmas has flown by for another year. It's hard to believe it's not only come and gone, but it's now 2007.

There were a couple lowlights this year:

  • Alyssa (Amy's youngest) ended up in the hospital while we were in Duluth, because she couldn't keep anything down for a couple of days. Poor thing hooked up to the IV looked so little!
  • I got an icky cold last week that is still lingering. Blech.
  • Some family things. Won't elaborate too much more.

But more importantly, here are only some of the highlights (there were many, many more!):

  • The Christmas decorations - I love decorating my house for Christmas!
  • Christmas Eve's Sunday service at church.
  • Hosting my family for Christmas Eve. I managed to cook the roast for a second year in a row without completely wrecking it!
  • Seeing Dena's excitement at receiving a FoodSaver, and talking about how you really know she's crossed over from being a 'kid' to being an adult when she is excited about getting appliances as gifts. Ha!
  • Relaxing when we went to visit Jamie's family in Duluth. With the exception of how crazy it gets at his parent's house with all of the kids there...
  • Seeing The Pursuit of Happyness with Jamie for date night.
  • Going to a really fun New Year's Eve party with some of Jamie's work friends. I haven't laughed that much in a while.

Now it's back to the normal routine. Work is going to slow down a little bit, thank goodness, but hopefully not too much. It's nice to have a good balance of having enough to do at a normal pace.

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, and the ultrasound next Tuesday!! It's hard to believe that I'm more than halfway through my pregnancy already. "They" really know what they mean when "they" say time flies, don't they?!
